Meta has broken ground on a $27 billion data center complex in Louisiana, marking one of its largest infrastructure projects to date. The facility will deliver one gigawatt of power to support AI systems and social networks, rivaling the scale of its Hyperion and Prometheus campuses. Construction will employ over 4,000 workers at peak, with 300 permanent positions post-completion.

The project aligns with Mark Zuckerberg's aggressive AI investment strategy. Meta plans to spend $115-$135 billion this year on AI infrastructure—a staggering increase from prior years. The company now operates or is building more than 30 data centers globally, with Indiana's Lebanon campus becoming its second major tech hub in the state.

Separately, Meta launched "Dear Algo," a Threads app feature allowing feed customization through natural language prompts. The MOVE mirrors conversational AI interfaces like ChatGPT, reflecting Meta's deepening integration of AI across its platforms.
